The table management portion of RCMS allows you to assign a table to a reservation.
The first step in using the table management system is to use the table map designer to create a representative map of the tables that you have in your restaurant. In the designer, you create tables and then specify how many people can seat at each table and whether the table can be moved or not. The capacity of a table is defined three ways:
How many people can sit at the table if it is not joined with any other tables
How many people can sit at the table if it is joined with one other table
How many people can sit at the table if it is joined with two other tables
Once the restaurant tables have been mapped out, you are ready to assign those tables to reservations. Tables are assigned to reservations when the reservation is either created or modified. When you select a table, the table map you created is displayed and the status of each table is shown by color coding. Each color represents a different status i.e. available, in use, needed within 30 minutes etc. and the colors are fully configurable.
All of the colors used on the table maps can be configured from the Table Options screen. On this screen you also specify how long a table is needed for. This is used to show tables as 'in use'.
There is also a report that can be generated and printed to show you which tables are required at which times. The report can be generated for any number of days and you can select the entire day or only specific hours that you want to view.
